Microfarm Cultivation Lab

  • What You Do: Plan, plant, and manage 10×10 backyard plots using AI-assisted crop modeling.

  • Skills Gained: Soil science fundamentals; yield forecasting; CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) membership management.

  • Outcome: Harvested produce, sold under ARKTIK’s Alkaline Certified label, complete with yield reports and sales records in your portfolio.

Automotive & 12-Volt Installations Lab

  • What You Do: Install and configure vehicle electrical systems—audio, lighting, security—in FedEx trucks, dealership vehicles, and private cars.

  • Skills Gained: MECP-level wiring techniques; system diagnostics; client communication and service documentation.

  • Outcome: Fully documented installations, work orders, and before-/after media published to your GitHub project repository.

Media Production Lab

  • What You Do: Execute real audio, film, and game-dev projects—from recording and editing to post-production and deployment.

  • Skills Gained: Studio engineering workflows; camera operation; narrative editing; Unity/C# basics for rapid prototyping.

  • Outcome: Production reels, demo games, and published media—tagged, versioned, and showcased on your portfolio site.

Community Food-Systems Lab

  • What You Do: Coordinate local food-security initiatives: water-quality testing, neighborhood outreach, supply-chain logistics.

  • Skills Gained: Environmental monitoring; project coordination; data reporting; stakeholder engagement.

  • Outcome: Project plans, field reports, and stakeholder presentations stored in GitHub and shared through Asana.

How to Participate

  1. Select Your Lab: Choose one or more labs aligned with your program track.

  2. Complete Prerequisites: Finish foundational coursework and tool-setup (GitHub, Asana, Microsoft 365).

  3. Join a Cohort: Labs run in 6- to 12-week cycles, limited to ensure hands-on access.

  4. Deliver Real Results: Submit your final deliverables—reports, code, media, or produce—to earn your Lab Badge.
